Amy Bolton joined the U.S. Botanic Garden as the Director of Learning and Engagement with a wealth of museum, education, leadership, and gardening experience. Amy has held key education roles as an Education Specialist at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History where, among many accomplishments, she helped create the Q?rius exhibit and most recently served as the Deep Time Education and Outreach Manager (Deep Time is their new dinosaur/paleobotany exhibit). Amy also served as the Chair of the Board of the American Horticultural Society for five years and is a Master Gardener.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a concentration in Journalism from the University of Delaware, and a Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction from George Mason University. In her spare time, Amy enjoys building habitats in her home garden, hiking, improving her birding skills, and traveling to new places. She is an avid reader and science nerd with an insatiable appetite for learning.
