Did you know that the U.S. Botanic Garden is a living plant museum? Some of the plants in our collection date back to 1838, some are rare and endangered plants and some are very delicate plants from around the world.
We need your help in keeping our plants healthy and in good condition for all visitors. Please:
- Enjoy the plants with your eyes and do not touch the plants or objects on display.
- Use our interactive displays gently.
Did you know that on average jungles receive more than 70 inches of rain a year? If you listen carefully, you will hear the misters in the rainforest and overhear a great plant story.
So please…be courteous and:
- Keep your voices down.
- Do not run or horseplay.
- Walk only on the paths, not in the garden beds or on the garden walls.
If you have any questions while you are here, please ask. We welcome you to the U.S. Botanic Garden and hope you enjoy your visit!
