The U.S. Botanic Garden Conservatory will close at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, due to an official government function. The Conservatory will return to normal hours December 7.
Tonda Cave leads a team that provides administrative support services for the U.S. Botanic Garden. She is the principal USBG liaison with the Architect of the Capitol's Business Operations group, including human resources, procurement, budget and accounting. Her areas of responsibility include human resource management, strategic planning, procurement, information technology, budget and finance, labor relations, training and coaching.
She joined the U.S. Botanic Garden in 2009, but her career with the Architect of the Capitol began in accounting in 1990. She moved to human resources where she gained expertise in training and employee relations. As agency lead and project manager, she marshaled the roll out of the Architect of the Capitol's Avue digital employee evaluation program. She has received the Office of the Attending Physician coin for sustained outstanding service in addition to many other customer service awards throughout her career. A 10-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, she handled payroll and personnel issues in Santa Ana, California, and Quantico, Virginia. Tonda is a certified administrative investigator and a contracting officer's technical representative.
