Professional Development

Teachers learning about plant scienceWe thank you for thinking of the U.S. Botanic Garden as an extension of your classroom. In addition to the rich offerings we have for students, we offer a variety of courses, workshops and teacher trainings to support you in teaching plant science, STEAM and environmental science. Professional Learning Units (PLUs) are offered for each of the professional development offerings.

Please check our calendar of events for dates and additional information.

DC Teacher Night

We are very excited to continue our collaboration with the DC Environmental Education Consortium to offer DC Teacher Night. This is an environmental educational resource evening for all DC area educators. We invite 40 environmental organizations together and under one roof, educators can learn about the diversity of offerings for both teachers and your students, in and outside of the classroom.
