A wonderful addition to any shade garden, this plant heralds the coming of spring with nodding blossoms that begin to show during the later frosts of winter. Lenten rose is tolerant of heat and Mid-Atlantic humidity and holds its foliage through the winter. Cut the blooms back after flowering and any leaves that are suffering from winter burn to encourage new foliage growth.
