A tropical plant grown as a house plant or a summer annual for the bright colorful foliage. Tends to be deer resistant and adds a splash of color to an annual planting or container. The flowers are inconspicous and should be pinched back to promote foliage growth. When grown indoors, it prefers a soil-based potting mix and bright morning sun. Plants can be moved outdoors after frost free date and cut back to promote new growth. Cuttings are easily rooted.
