This herbaceous peony is a garden standard that adds interest from spring through autumn. It has fragrant white flowers for about 10 days in May and is long-lived if left undisturbed. Woodland peonies are a great addition to a woodland or shade garden or as a herbaceous hedge. After flowering, the spent blooms can be removed, although the attractive seed pods extend seasonal interest. The foliage is attractive dark green through the summer and should be cut back after the frost.
