Sustainable schoolyards are emerging as an important educational and recreational component of schools and communities, for youth and adults alike. Come learn how greening your local schoolyard can help create a more active, livable, and green community. Representatives from the Friends of Smart Growth and Sustainable Communities, a group of national organizations that created the sustainable schoolyard exhibit at the U.S. Botanic Garden, will provide an overview of the exhibit and sustainable schoolyards, as well as helpful tips for attendees to take back to their own communities.
